1860s to 1870s? (There is no date in this little devotional book:)  (I believe that this was published around the CIVIL WAR era, since I just sold another book owned by this same person that was published during the civil war.)  TITLED:  CHRIST ALONE:  A BOOK FOR ALL;   AUTHOR:  REV. JAMES SMITH; Cheltenham, England;    PUBLISHER:   AMERICAN TRACT SOCIETY,  28 Cornhill, Boston;;   PAGES:  64;   SIZE:  approx. 5" x 3 1/4";  ILLUSTRATIONS:  none;   COVER:  faded lavender silk soft cover boards, with gold lettering on front. The front cover is also embossed with 4 draped American Flags, in the center is the title of this small book and below is written "CONSTITUTION" and next to that, is 2 rifles and a cannon opposite it with cannon ball below the cannon.  At the top of this embossed scene are 2 "civil war" style bayonets on each side of "HOLY BIBLE" stamped in gold on cover.:  NO D.J.    CONDITION:   fair to good with soft shelf wear and cover fading, with cover loose from text., corners slightly bumped.  Binding tight:   Text clean and clear.  Previous owner name, KATE CHILDS, stamped on front end page.-****  RARE-ONE OF A KIND ITEM ****
