1860 Victorian Scarlett Civil War Bustle Day Dress Gown

This gorgeous example of a Civil War Visiting Outfit is decked to the hilt with rich detail as well as beautiful accessories. Imagine bringing the name of Southern Belle to life in this lovely turn of the century outfit. This complete 1860s costume includes in detail the following:

DRESS- This is a 4 piece outfit and has the following characteristics: 

-This rich & ornate jacket is perfect for anyone about to go for a stroll or out calling! Made of rich textured black embossed fabric, the jacket is accented with black trim and cream linen ruffles on the shoulder drapes. Lovely black tassles line the bottom of the shoulders and these are no ordinary costume tassels but rather high end home decorator type. Each ornate tassels hangs from a woven black band. From the slim waist emerges a lovely rounded skirt with extra fabric in the back to create that lovely 19th century bustle look. With a very tailored waist, this sleek jacket closes with 5 lovely buttons underneath the unique, slightly sweetheart neckline with greek collar. Slip into this jacket and you will feel the lovely weight & richness of this stunning coat.

-Each sleeve is made of matching black fabric with a shimmering cream linen cuff edged in embroidered tassels and ruffles. The top of each sleeve near the shoulder has delightful caps with the same trim & tassles.

-The lovely Civil War style skirts is created out of three layers: a tan cotton underskirt with a black chiffon overlay and a cream linen on top. The lovely top skirt is gathered up in 4 places, creating glorious folds then topped with rich woven black trim. A layer of tassels edges the entire top skirt. Just above the hem of the black chiffon lies a large double ruffled trim inset with woven black trim setting the skirt off right. The large black satin skirt waist closes with laces and eyelets. A  modesty panel allows for size adjustments. This skirt is even pretty enough to stand on its own!
