Manuscript Card measuring 2 x 4 inches, signed twice 'Rich. F. Burton' and 'Haji Abdullah' in Arabic,
also signed 'David Livingstone'. Mounted and Framed together with Photographs of Burton and Livingstone.
Burton's Photograph is an original 3 x 4 inch albumen print showing Burton in oriental dress sitting on the floor.
Livingstone's photograph is a 3 x 4 inch cabinet card. Two highly sought-after original signatures together on
one card, marking a rare and special occurence in history. It is extremely rare to find any single item
signed by both these two notable explorers as they rarely met and were seldom in the same country, let alone
the same city. It would appear that the item stems from the mid 1860's when Burton met Livingstone for the
first time at the Royal Geographical Society, where they shared a speaking platform at Bath the day after
Speke's untimely demise. A fabulous item, visually very pleasing, presented in a double matted wood frame,
conservation framed entirely with acid free materials. Extremely Rare and Unique.
