We are offering a Superb, Exquisitely crafted English Folding Fruit Knife with Carved Mother of Pearl Handle and Silver Blade. The Blade's Hallmarks indicate that it is Sterling Silver and was produced in Sheffield in 1871, based upon the " Lion Passant ", the " Crown " City Hallmark and the " D " Date Letter. The Maker's Mark is " H H & ", which we believe refers to the Sheffield silver company " Harrison Brothers & Howson ". The Hallmarks also include Queen Victoria in profile facing left, which is the Duty Mark. Condition is Near Mint with a Fresh surface that suggests it has seen very little use. We cannot discern any wear on the Handle, and we see only some very superficial scratches on the otherwise pristine Blade, probably from the Knife simply being opened and closed. There are no chips, cracks, losses etc. Kindly refer to our Photos. Thank you. On Nov-09-09 at 10:25:48 PST, seller added the following information: Regarding Size, the Knife's Handle is a shade over 3 " ( 7.6 Cm ) in Length and the Blade is about 2 5/8 " ( 6.7 Cm ). |
