Welcome to my auction! Glad to have you visit. This is a friend's item and from her grandmother's estate, she is hoping for good homes for these heirlooms.
I have for sale a real old timer in this chamber pot. Thanks to the excellent registered designs and records kept by English pottery makers, we can really zero in on the time period this chamber pot was manufactured. This art deco pot and lid were made in Berslem township in Staffordshire, England, by the Bates, Elliot & Co., during May of 1872. This is a very unique set and has a great design. Beading surrounds the base of the lid handle and about the shoulders of the pot. The green paint around the rims, handle and on lid knob is cold applied and has suffered loss, one spot on the handle and around the inner edge of bowl. The fan and tassel design is fired on and also has a little "japanning" on the orange color. Registered makers mark on bottom.
Now the bad part --it has a crack is visible on the lower part of the pot. It does extend inside and there is a small piece missing inside and another flake at the base of the handle. The handle is still tight. There is a chip on the rim of the pot, (about 1/2" wide) not visible with lid on. For it's long life and usage, someone is bound to still love it.
Thanks for looking. Smoke-free home. Any questions???? Please just email with ample time to answer.
