Published in New York by Appleton and Company, it could be purchased as a two volume book or by semi-monthly subscription which got you a chapter with one "highly finished engraving on steel" and several wood cuts plus text. This print from Part xx and includes the cover and text. Overall dimensions are 13.5 x 10 inches

View of the city from a hill-side. A very low-rise city at this point, with the tallest objects being the many Church steeples. Nice composition, with a promenading couple in the foreground, trees in the mid area and the city from horizon to horizon in the background. Accompanying text discusses in part Newport with several lithograph views, including the Commodore Perry Statue and the "old mill"
