1874 HANGING OF THE CRANE Longfellow Gold Leaf Book
This very old poetry book is entitled, "The Hanging of the Crane" by Henry W. Longfellow. It is heavily illustrated with black and white prints. The first print in the book has a tissue cover. The book was entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1874 in the Office of the Librarian of Congress in Washington, D.C.
A handwritten inscription on one of the front cover pages gives a date of 1882. There is a book plate on the inside cover plate. The pages are gold leaf. The book measures 6 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches. The cover shows wear, but all in all the book is in pretty good condition.
