This is an antique tin document holder. 

It does have a bit of pitting and a little rust. 

It is obviously very functional as it has kept the diploma we found inside in perfect shape. 

The diploma is from the Eastman National Business College in Poughkeepsie, New York and is signed July 1876.  I found the motto interesting. “Teach your boys that which they will use when they become Men”.  

Please view the pictures of the container and the diploma highlighting the date, motto and name of college, carefully

 The document holder is 20 inches long and 2 inches in diameter.
