This is an original color 1876 lithograph showing the Shoe & Leather Building at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. "The hall [was] well lighted." The building was designed by Alexander B. Bary and cost $31,.
This original color lithograph is from an 1876 collection celebrating the Centennial of the United States at the International Exposition in Philadelphia. Each lithograph was printed only on one side and is accompanied by an original one page supplement with historical information (including dimensions and costs) describing the pictured building. Most images have the artist's signature embedded in the image and all have the lithograph publisher's imprint in the bottom right corner of the image. Although some pieces have water stains, most water staining is contained in the margins and doesn't impact the quality of the image.
CONDITION. This 13+ year old item is rated Fine according to the grading guidelines established by the National Archive of Illustration and Advertising Art. No aging. No tears. No surface rub. The certificate and label will have the NAIAA security seal and each are printed on different custom papers and embossed to eliminate reproduction.
