This fantastic Morgan Dollar features stunning proof-like appearance, with lightly-frosted, sharply-struck devices that contrast beautifully against smooth mirrored fields. A high grade, low population, CAC sticker and the PCGS OGH. What more could a Morgan Dollar enthusiast hope to find?

The superior condition of this silver gem has earned it a very high gem grade of MS67-PL by PCGS and the prestigious CAC certification. The CAC Green Sticker tells all that this coin has been certified by CAC to have met their stringent grading standards ensuring its high-standard of preservation and clarity.. Just take a look at the picture above and you'll see what a stunning this specimen is.

What makes this Morgan even more appealing is the fact that it's housed in an original, early generation green PCGS holder. As "green holder" coins were graded during a more conservative period of PCGS' history, a good deal of them is in far superior condition to their contemporary counterparts. In the original PCGS holder, usually commands a premium price to begin with, almost always above Grey-Sheet.  This is usually justified, since the coins in these holders can usually be upgraded as many as 3 grades when re-submitted to PCGS.

Though over 8 million Morgan Silver Dollars were minted in San Francisco in 1880, most have long since been lost to circulation or were melted down for reuse during the massive bullion melts of the 1930's.

Only a small number of 1880-S Morgans have survived in mint-state condition.

Even fewer 1880-S Morgans have received a proof-like designation.

Currently, only 109 have been awarded an MS67-PL grade by PCGS.

Of the remaining, Only 18 have graded higher
