Here is a large portrait engraving of Thomas Carlyle, who was a Scottish satirical writer, essayist, and historian who lived from 1795 to 1881. Under the engraving, it says "Engraved by T. Cole. It has Mr. Carlyle's printed signature, and it says "After a photograph by Mrs. Cameron".
In the bottom left corner, it says "The Century Gallery of One Hundred Portraits ~ Thomas Carlyle: Plate LXXXIV ~ Copyright 1881, by Scribner & Co."
The overall size is 9 11/16" x 13 1/2". The printed area measures 7 3/4" high x 4 15/16" wide. The heavyweight paper has little tears along the right edge. It has a bottom right corner crease. There is a scratch across, that you can see below at the top of the picture. It doesn't go into the paper. It looks like something rubbed against it, possibly someones fingernails. It is blank on the back side.
Please take a look at my other engravings that I have listed. I can combine them together for shipping.
