Vam Description: 1884-O VAM-21A (Very Far Date, O/O Curved, Pitted Obverse, Overlapping Reeding) Vam 21A Obverse III25 · Reverse C3n (Very Far Date, O/O Curved, Pitted Obverse, Overlapping Reeding) (181) I-3 higher interest and R-6 very rare variety.  The obverse III25 – A few scattered raised dots from rust pits in die on jaw, neck and around 2 and 3 left stars.  Ear very slightly doubled on right inside. Date set much further right than normal.  The Reverse C3n– II O mint mark re-punched with original showing as a raised curved line in middle of opening. The Edge– Reeding on edge is overlapped for about 8 segments at 3 and 7 o’clock, about 105° apart and also at 1 & 5 and 2 & 6 o’clock on some specimens.
