With Index to Maps (1885 Philadelphia) Condition: The map is in excellent condition (i.e., strong and bright paper, clear image, original nice wide margins, vivid colors, no bend, never framed, and slight but even age toning). It was printed on high quality heavy wove paper with a blank verso. Issued with a centerfold, the map is nearly flawless with a tiny stain spot at bottom left as shown by the detailed photo. The title page is for your identification purpose only and is not included with the map. Description: This very nice and detailed map of Palestine [plate 24, one of most detailed and upto dated commercial map of the region] was from Bradley’s Atlas of the World published by William Bradley Brothers in 1885 with a copyright entry date of 1884 on the map.
Based in Philadelphia, William Bradley was a very reputable map publisher of later 19th century. The relatively large map from this current atlas was one of most detailed, and accurate among all the commercially published atlases of its time. Each map was encased in a nice decorative border. With subtle printed colors and delicate outline hand colorings, it was also one of the first atlases with an extensive geographic index for each map. It will be carefully packaged flat and shipped via USPS 1st class or priority mail with insurance [included in the shipping and handling fee] for domestic address and USPS airmail for international address.
