An amazing piece of Pennsylvania Railroad history from the Benjamin Harrison Administration. This 1889 eleven page program is from a forty-one day train tour of the U.S. given to the leaders of the Argentine Republic, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Brazil, Chili, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Peru, Salvador, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Off-white cardstock program features multiple engravings, and embossings, and a great drawing of President Harrison. Thick cardstock gilded pages feature the list of delegates and dignitaries, and members of the International American Congress. Also included are all the train stations along the 5,406 mile trip, as well as extracts from the welcome address given to the delegates by the Honorable James B. Blaine, Secretary of State. Truely a historical treasure! Minor age issues including some discoloration on the cover, but in overall good condition, the red white and blue ribbon is new.
First page reads:
"Tour tendered the Delegates of the International American Congress by the Government of the United States, under the supervision of the Pennsylvania Railroad."
