David Livingstone (1813-1873), Scottish explorer, medical missionary, Anglican minister, writer, among the first Westerners to journey across transcontinental Africa, died of malaria and dysentery in Zambia.

Red clothbound with bevel-edged boards that are well attached, rubbed, sunned, and moderately worn at edges; front board has spots of light discoloration. Front board and backstrip have gilt and black illustrated titles; endpapers are black, page edges are gilt. Binding is good, no loose, missing, bent or torn pages; leaves have no significant foxing or fading, some light offset with a few plates.
