1890-S NGC MS64 1$ ~ PL luster, PQ surfaces, Obverse Struck Thru error! (bx364) Absolutely stunning snow white luster is haze and spot free. Purchased as an NGC MS64PL, we insisted that the obverse mirrors were just short of fully Proofliek quality (the reverse is a strong PL), and they agreed. The surfaces are so bright, smooth, and appealing that we feel this piece should have graded gem. Also, there is a bold STRUCK -THRU impression (mint error) of a long piece of lint on the obverse. We feel it should have been mentioned on the holder, but NGC did not do so. Yet another reason this coin is special. An outstanding coin and very PQ as a straight 64 with no designations!
