This manuscript account book presents 444 pages of accounts for the grist
mill business of W. H. Bruns, of Woodville, Ohio, in Sandusky County.
Bruns was also a director of the Ohio Savings Bank and Trust Company, in
nearby Toledo, Ohio.
In the 1890s, this W. H. Bruns also had an oil well on his property,
for the Ohio Oil Company, as this area was part of the Woodville oil field.
The account book present full details of the grain grist milling operation.
Included are accounts for: Enterprise Boiler Works, Woodville Oil Company,
Henry Herman, Churchill and Co, Speculative Grain Company, National Milling
Co, Buckeye Supply Company, Fred Smilker of Cleveland, Ohio, Columbus Coal
Company, Woodville Creamery, etc.
Plus accounts for hundreds of individuals who were doing business with this
grain grist mill.
I purchased this ledger from an antiques dealer here in Pennsylvania.
Condition: Nice Condition. No library or
institution markings. Pages and cover are securely attached. Pages
are mostly clean, with only minor stains to a few pages. The cover's spine
has lost its surface.
