extraordinary, almost breathtaking, personal desk portfolio of
natural shell that's framed and decorated with sterling silver,
the hallmarks of which indentify James Beede, London
and 1891 as the usual origin-related suspects

shell and sterling cover has been affixed to the front of a
 4-sided stiff cardboard portfolio with red leather
to front and back covers and red silk to the interior,
with slip pockets provided for organizing

condition
shell and sterling are in excellent condition;
there is, however, a small tear to the leather at the top
and bottom of the spine, and the interior surfaces show
 a bit of ink and age spotting
