This is a 1895-1905 Printed Cotton Handkerchief Boys with Shovels measuring 12 1/2" x 11 1/2". It dates to early 20thC and is English or American. The boys have shovels over their shoulders and there is a sailboat depicted as well. There are no holes, rips or tears, and has some age staining to the central area as would be expected. One corner has a penciled in 1 cent price. The narrow hem is machine stitched along three sides with the fourth fabric selvage. The printing is dark red with a white cotton background (not shown well in the photograph).
