An Early Dietz No. 2 Tubular Fire Place Kerosene Heater in "as found" original condition. I would date this heater probably from around 1880 to 1897. It has (2) 4" burners inside and a hot plate on top to be used as a stove as well. The casting work on this piece is incredible!! Very fine work!!! It has the original mica windows. The base is very appealing, all with the original japanned finish and gold details. The galvanized metal fount inside is still all real nice, see photos! This heater appears to be complete and should work, however has not been tested. It has not been cleaned. The only issues to mention are one of the wick knobs is missing and one of the side doors opens nicely and one is stuck. The base measures 15 ¾" x 15 ¾. This heater stands 18" high. The plate on top measures 7 5/8" in diameter. This is a great piece for the Dietz or Griswold collector to own!! These early fireplace heaters are very hard to come by and I’m sure you won’t want to miss this one!!! NO RESERVE! Because this is a fine antique, we prefer local pickup however, it can be shipped via Fedex ground in two packages. Pleaes email for accurate shipping quote. Buyer may also arrange shipping.
