This Old FRENCH carved CRUCIFIX is set on a wooden gothic cross
mounted on velvet within a double cross with filigrane bronzed metal
from NAPOLEON III era late 1800's.
This emotionally touching carving is finely executed in rare detail,

The fabric on which it rested , an old red velvet , has only minor wear
from aging ,rare.It has a beautiful ornate holy water font.
The CHRIST is made in white metal
with an old uncleaned bronze patina .
The INRI inscription at the top is the Latin initials for Iesus
Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorem.

The crucifix is in very good condition for its age ,no missing part .
It measures 11 1/2 in height and about 7 inches wide .
