Anita Trueman Pickett (1881-1960) was a
Freethought preacher and ordained as a Unitarian minister in 1921. In her
late teens and early twenties she was an established and respected public
speaker, poet, author, ardent Single Tax advocate, and preacher of “Free
Thought” philosophy. She was a protégé of the poets Edwin Markham and Ella
Wheeler Wilcox, of Swami Abhedananda (one of the founders of the Vedanta
movement in America), and of the world-famed naturalist and author, John
Burroughs. This book was published when she was only 19 years old and expressed
many of her deep spiritual gleanings. No inscription or markings, mild edgewear,
tight solid and clean. 4¾" x 7, 95 pages.
