Winter is upon us and soon it will be time
to build fires in our fireplaces....how wonderful to have a beautiful fireside screen
to place in front when the fireplace is not in use.....
these treasures were created to beautify our heaths year round....
This stunning French Ornamental Iron Fireside screen dates to the early 1900's or before....
Heavy hand wrought ornamental iron in a classic French style creates the heavy frame...solid feet are an actual part of that frame...
the ornament crowns the entire top, and two large swags drape down across the front.....
the body of the frame appears to be old canvas, in atleast two layers, with iron lining that within....
this material is all original to the screen, and though there is an indentation
or impression here and there, it is in very nice antique condition,
and it has a great look...the front side is an old faded creme color,
and the back side has a gilded finish that matches the back side of the iron fretwork and frame....
Draping down from those iron swags are additional ornaments in barbola gesso with long swags or roses
that flow down the canvas....

What can I say that pictures do not say better....
so numerous pictures for your close review......

Measurements are : 31  1/2"  wide, by 32"  tall to top of iron crown......
