This 53-page book includes 11 color pages - 8 wall tile elevations plus our enlarged details. The original images in the Wall Tile Arrangements catalog were extremely faded, but we were able to restore them to what we believe were the original colors. Each wall tile page includes one or more profiles, plus hand-written prices.
The very early Faience Mantel Tile catalog includes 40 beautiful fireplace drawings, a color plate, plus 7 pages showing many molded tiles in the Arts & Crafts style. Arts & Crafts style. We believe this catalog to be from around 1905 because of the pictured medal, won by Cambridge at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. This seems to be the earliest Cambridge catalog currently available in reprint.
We are less sure of the date of the second catalog section, Wall Tile Arrangements. Earlier? Later? Experts, please correspond.
We have digitally reproduced the original catalog at a high resolution, and printed the pages on a heavy paper stock. This is not a photocopy - our methods allow us to retain excellent image clarity and depth of detail while allowing digital "repairs" to very old pages. The true spiral binding, unlike a comb binding, allows this book to remain unharmed when left open at the desired place. Heavyweight clear vinyl covers protect the front and back. Our fine reproduction catalogs are already in museum research collections.
We offer a large number of vintage and classic china, pottery, glass, architectural ornament, and other catalogs in our eBay bookstore. Currently, we are working on other previously unavailable tile catalogs from companies such as American Encaustic, US Encaustic, Rookwood, the Mosaic Tile Company, and various California potteries.
