I get most of my items at estate auctions. I sell them in an "as found" condition. I do no repairs, alterations and very little cleaning. I do this in the belief that most buyers prefer to receive them as original as possible.  

     DESCRIPTION:     In the next few weeks I will be offering bayonets from a local estate. The previous owner was an avid knife and gun collector. Most of the information, such as maker and country of origin for these bayonets is information that was on paper labels written by the previous owner. This old bayonet is in very good used condition. The blade is in excellent condition with just some light tarnish. It is absolutely straight and has very few scratches and no nicks in the cutting edge. The wooden handle does show a little wear and has a few nicks and scratches but no cracks or damage. The guard and other metal on the handle does show some light wear but no damage. The bayonet does not have a scabbard. The bayonet is stamped "Simson (Simsun?) & Co., Suhl" and the number "5939" on the guard. I would guess this bayonet was made in Germany for the Brazil military but I'm not certain of that. The bayonet is about 17" in length with a 11 3/4" blade.
