BIOGRAPHY: Walter Scott (1771-1832) Scottish author, novelist, poet, baronet, wrote numerous popular works including Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, The Lady of the Lake, Waverley, The Heart of Midlothian and The Bride of Lammermoor. May Clarissa Gillington Byron (c. 1850-1936), English author, obscure but prolific, wrote Peter Pan and Wendy, Jams and Jellies, Ruff & Reddy, A Day with Morris, Scott, Whitman, Coleridge, Emerson and Wagner. Backstrip is chipped. Binding is shaken between frontispiece and title page but holding; half title and frontispiece loose midway to tail. Rest of binding is good, no loose, missing, bent or torn pages; some damp stain verso frontispiece. Leaves have no foxing, fading or offset.
