1911 SILVER ALBERT WATCH CHAIN HB&S plus blank FOB

50 grams

 

A solid heavy English silver curb link Albert watch chain and an attractive silver vacant award fob with raised shield all 1911

 

 

CHAIN:

Overall length (T-bar to clip) 13.75 inches  (35 cm).   The links are 0.25 inches (6.5 mm) across.

 

The T-bar is marked with the lion passant, the date letter m for 1911-12 and HB&S.  The common ring has the anchor for Birmingham and the date letter m. The chain links are marked with the lion passant and one is marked HB&S.  The clip is marked SS (for sterling silver).  There is a little wear but it is still a good strong and very useable chain.

 

 

 

The makers HB&S were manufacturing gold & silversmiths, Herbert Bushell & Son Ltd of Northampton Street, Birmingham.

 

FOB:

The silver fob is 1.46 inches (37.3 mm) high and has a raised shield.  Hallmarked Birmingham, m 1911-12, maker W.W.C.

 

 

 

Overall inclusive weight 50.42 grams.
