This 1912 booklet is just about my favorite Jell-O item in our collection! Its fabulous chromolithograph illustrations on the front and back covers, plus four full-page chromos (including the Jell-O girl) ,plus its center page chromo, make it hard to beat for visual appeal! The back cover features The Genesee Pure Food Co plant in Le Roy, NY, molded into a block of Jell-O. The booklet gives more than two dozen dessert recipes--frappes, puddings, creams, mousses, salads, etc. The booklet was found in a journal kept by the Genesee Pure Food Company's advertising or ordering department between 1908 to about 1922. This particular item has a notation on the cover, "Niagara Litho Co. , Jan 10, 1912, $9.25 M. I believe this means Niagara Litho printed these booklets at a cost of $9.25 per thousand. 4-3/8 X 6-3/8 inches. Stapled on fold.
Condition: In very good condition. Front and back covers are beginning to separate from each other on the fold line as shown below. Multiple full length creases next to the fold-line on the front cover. Insides are clean, bright and nice with no spots or browning. Back cover has a `patch of residual paper/glue with a 1-1/2 inch piece out of upper edge ( shown below as the left edge of the back cover).
