Attention STUDEBAKER memorabilia collectors! For your bid is an authentic Studebaker Retail Sales Order - New Cars. This is dated July 19, 1917 , Syracuse New York. It reads, in part: " To Studebaker Corporation - Syracuse Branch. Please enter my order for one Studebaker 18-4 model Touring Car with standard equipment described in the manufacturer's catalog, except as otherwise specified herein, to be delivered on or about July 19, 1917."
Further on it reads, "Price of Motor Car with Standard Equipment $985.00, Freight and Handling Expense $25.00........I agree to pay the sum of $1010........accompanying this order Buick Car $250.00. Balance to be paid to you upon delivery of car $760.00."
This is followed by signatures of Buyer (who resided at 2638 South Salina Street, Syracuse, NY), Witness, and Dealer.
Fortunately, someone was smart enough to keep this collector's item under glass for a lot of years. It does have some fold marks, and 2 tiny tears on the right hand border. It is presently in a 8 x 10 frame.
