(1919-Charles Scribner's Sons) The Stranger's Pew by Thomas Nelson Page. Unstated first. Slim volume with 21 pages of a story about an ill woman who notices that a stranger in the congregation is bleeding. Frontispiece illustration of "The Stranger" standing in a cathedral. Pages show some age bronzing and thumbing, some smudges. One page shows a fair amount of wear with several creases. Gray cardboard covers with dark brown cloth spine. No dustjacket. 5x7.5". Some edge wear, small white spot, small hole to top front. A bit worn, but good condition overall. ***NOTE ABOUT BOOK CONDITION: I used to describe in great detail a book's condition, but I have pared back my descriptions. I am not so sure that people take the time to read them and it's a labor-intensive task. Plus, as an avid reader myself who buys books all the time on-line, I am looking for specific titles and don't particularly care about the condition. If the book is sold as used and there's a spot or two on the pages, dog ears, and thumbing, cover scuffing, etc., that's normal wear and I don't think it's worth mentioning. However, if there is some glaring flaw, like pages are very worn, totally broken hinges, loose pages, parts of or complete pages missing, etc., that's excessive wear and should be mentioned. So, average, pre-read condition: no extra details given; excessive wear: details given. 90% of my book listings are used, and a lot are library discards, so expect to receive a book that shows some wear and tear. If book condition is a major concern for you, please e-mail with specific condition questions and I will describe the book in detail. Before I list, I do a quick thumb through of every book looking for obvious or extensive damage and that is what I will describe if I find any.*** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: COMBO SHIPPING: Please check out my eBay store for all sorts of vintage children's books.
