 1920s Antique style leather Hockey helmet...Rarely in the early days of Hockey did players wear a helmet. Yet college teams did and were smart..although savy pros did and save heir carers.. 
Lg adult size  adjustable fits sizes 6 7/8 - 7 7/8 Only those players who had experienced a serious head blow by a sizzling puck or check with a stick wanted to wisely wear the helmet.  Because of the lack of players in the early days of Hockey playing without helmets ..there were many deaths in the HS , College and Pro leagues around the world...It wasn't till the 70s that players seriously started to wear helmets which are now mandatory today. In the 1920s  30s and 40s this was the style helmet one would often see on theose wise players who wanted to continue the game and their life in one of  the most brutal team sports invented by man.  Today these early leather hockey helmets have faded from existance except for a few museum examples which bring very high prices. They are practically extinct.   This is a hand crafted replica from Past Time Sports . Hand crafted of fine saddle quality leather..hand stitched and hand sewn with a look and patina of the real deal..  This beautiful example of hockey origins and head gear is one for every historians trophy collection and to show the evolution of many team sport helmets . Hockey stole this idea from Football say football historians ..but Hockey histoirians know it was likely the other way around. This harness style helmet can be seen in both sports in the earliest origins of the games.
