1920's UNUSED ITALIAN SHEET SET WITH BUTTONHOLE CUTWORK & FLORAL EMBROIDERY WITH 4 PILLOWCASES
Recently purchased from an Italian Trousseau, this unused 1920's bed set ( fancy top sheet and 2 pair of matching pillow cases ) are just lovely. The sheet measures 85" in width by 101" in length and the overlap is 24". These were made extra long so that you can turn back the top edge for a beautiful display on your bed. They are reminiscent of a very grand and regal period in linens. This would fit a queen/king bed. The 2 pairs of pillowcases are equally as beautiful, and measure 21-1/4" in width by 35-1/4" in length. Both cases and sheet are edged with scalloped and bottonhole cutwork flowers. The flowers have raised tiny seed stitches worked into them. The white work is skillfully done. Extra fine cotton with a high thread count, buttery soft. This sheet has been washed, and is in excellent condition, no stains, repairs or holes, the cotton is strong and sturdy, the cases are as found and have 2 very few small old age small brown spots, hard to find, no bigger than the head of a pin. but will come snow white with a first wash. Would look lovely on your bed, or, would make a great gift. Standard double bed is 54" wide x 78" long. Queen bed is 60" wide x 80" long. King bed is 78" wide x 82" long.
