More photos available upon request. Send me your email address, and I will get them out to you as soon as I can. Up for sale, is a gorgeous 1920's silk crepe dress, in rich chocolate brown. The design almost resembles an Egyptian Revival theme. There are a pair of birds, on each side. In excellent, wearable condition. UNfaded coco brown fabric, copper brown bugle beads, pink, soft golden yellow, and turquoise textured sequins. One owner, well stored. I got to examine the dress closely, as I lightly steam pressed the dress, under a towel. Here are my findings. The dress was quickly and lightly hemmed up for the original owner to wear. I took the makeshift hem down, and found an extra several inches of original dress. The fabric has no holes, or obvious stains. A couple to few very small, spots, one being light, and is on the front of the dress near the pleating, and the other are 2 small spots near the pleating in the front as well. Hardly worth mentioning. As they are not noticeable upon first inspection. I came across some loose threads that were connected to the beading. I reinforced the beadwork, wherever I saw it coming apart, and brought the remaining thread to the backside of the fabric, and secured it from further unraveling. I would have restored the bead loss, but I do not have the correct sized bronze bugles. Some bead loss is evident, around the neckline, and underarms. Some, in the front, slightly below the left shoulder. Top crown of bird. Bottom front, and back, lower left of center. Some sequin loss, but really hard to spot. The designing is so detailed, and busy, that you would not notice, loss of pinks, left side, bottom near hem. There are no white stains. It is glare from the photography. The dress is clean. Dresses of this age, and condition, should be handled with care, and worn and treated with the utmost respect. Can be worn right from the box, it is in excellent wearable condition. Approximate measurements as follows. Vintage runs very small, so please do not pay attention to the vintage size 18 label, on the neckline. WIll fit upto a 36" bust. Like a modern size M. Armpit to armpit bust measures 18 1/2". Doubled measurement is 37", This dress would best fit a 35-36" bust, to prevent stress on the fabric. Measure your bust curcumference with a tape measure. Shoulder span is 13". Waist is 19", and doubled is 38". Should fit loosely around your waist and hips, thus, fitting up to a 36" or so waist, at most. Hips, are 20", doubled as 40", not much wider than the waist. This is a straight sheath design, with pleating at the center. ♥
