This lithographed and embossed label was orginally printed to cover a 1 lb 3 oz. can of Tomatoes packed by the Edgett-Burnham Company of Newark, NY, under the Burnham Brand.

The printed date of the label is an estimate from a printer's packing slip found among the labels.
This light yellowed background label has gold gilt edges, with a downward scallop effect. The scalloped edge is embossed. The Burnham and Tomatoes lettering is in bright red with a gold gilt edging, also embossed. The small notation is in navy blue. The sword and shield mark has a navy blue background with white lettering and is edged with more gilt. The Tomato is in vivid red, with darker red edging. The stem is green, with with dark green dots to give depth. The tomato is embossed, which also gives depth.
The "Capt. Burnham" picture is in navy blue and country blue against a white background, all within a red circle. The circle is also embossed with small round bumps. Red lettering around the circle proclaims "Trademark registered in U.S. Patent Office".
This would make a great kitchen print once matted and framed.
Label measures 11-1/2" in length by 4-1/4" wide.
