The 4088-3 first appears in the 1922 K&E catalog. This one had to be manufactured in 1922 or 1923, because they started marking serial numbers in 1924. This rule has no serial number.
This rule is in Good Condition with a small chip on a corner of the framless cursor. It can be seen in the photos below.
The case is in fair condition. The flap has separated and it's been repaired with black tape on the inside. The loop that should hold the flap is missing. There is also a name stamped on the case. The "S" suffix in the model number indicates the hand sewn leather case.
