This is one of the rarest Pennsylvania county histories, not because of its age--the set was published in 1926 by S.J. Clarke in Chicago, and there are many county histories far older than that--but because the first volume (the actual county history; the other two are biographical volumes) was written by Earle R. Forrest, a highly collectible author best known for his books on the Southwestern US (Missions and Pueblos of the Old Southwest, Arizona's Dark and Bloody Ground, etc.). Of this rarely-seen foray into Pennsylvania history, THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO OTHER COPIES FOR SALE ONLINE ANYWHERE. About 2500 pages total with many illustrations throughout. Superb condition, with just a little lower corner wear. Solid Very Good condition on all three. |
