1926 Piver "Pompeïa" Perfume Advertising Fan by Maquet


Description:
Rare antique Art Deco perfumed paper and wood advertising hand fan for "Pompeia" perfume by L.T. Piver.

 

Color printed lithograph paper on green wooden sticks. It depicts two beautiful elongated ladies and a young man in a garden scene. Reverse with checkered pattern in green reads in center:   "PARFUM / Pompeïa / L.T. PIVER / PARIS". 

 

Paper on right guard reads "Maquet, Gr. Paris" Artist signed and dated " L // 1926" I couldn't find the name of the artist signature, but it was possibly designed by the French artist Gustave L. Jaulmes (1873-1959.)

 

Made in Paris, France by  Maquet for L.T. Piver, 1926.

 

Dimensions:
9-¼" (23.5 cm) H x 11-½" (29 cm) W (fully extended.)


Condition:

Complete fan with some wear and torn areas on edges (see pictures.) Perfume on paper has gone by pass of time. Otherwise, fine to very fine overall condition.
