String Configuration: 6 String

You are viewing a 1926 Martin Guitar.  Serial #28449, as stamped on the neck block within the body of the guitar.  The back of the headstock reads CF Martin & Co. Nazareth P.A.  The guitar is in very good condition, showing only significant finish wear on the bottom of the body as pictured.  Other than that, no cracks, splits or breaks; only normal play wear.  According to the current owner, the guitar is in original condition, with no modifications, except that the G string tuning peg has been replaced.  However, the original peg is included, and appears to be in working, unbroken condition, although I cannot be 100% certain.  It comes with an after-market light-duty case as pictured.

One person indicated that the guitar appears to be an 0-18 or 00-18 model.  If this is accurate, that means it has a spruce top with mahogany back and sides.  However, if so, the bridge on this guitar may or may not be original (pyramid bridges were still used in this period).  The guitar looks like it was made for gut strings.

I am selling this for a friend, who aquired it upon the passing of his father a few years ago.  If you need additional information, please check the serial number on this website:  http://www.provide.net/~cfh/martin.html .  I will be happy to try answering all other questions to the best of my and my good friend's knowledge.

No international bidders or bidders with less than 5 positive transactions.  Winning bidder to pay flat $50 shipping/insurance in the 48 U.S.  Payment due at end of auction.  All sales are final with no returns, so ask all questions before bidding.  Thanks and good luck!

Q: Hi, some additional questions for you - can you take pictures of the inside of the guitar? I'd particularly like to see the bracing and the bridge from underneath. This looks like an oversize replacement bridge so I'd... Continue reading
A: Hello, Sorry, I have no way of taking pics of the inside of the guitar. The bridge dimensions are: 7 1/4" x 1 1/8" for the larger wood piece, and: 3 1/4" x 1 1/8" for the smaller wood piece that is on top... Continue reading
