Peek-A-Boo Betty,  no author or illustrator credited but it may be May Byron for verses and Chloe Preston for art. Published by McLoughlin Bros. Copyright 1927. 16 pages plus covers.

Diecut heavy card boards measure about 11" by 5", which is larger than the series books with b&w illustration. This has a color illustration on each page. Bottom corner and edges are worn. The spine has moderate chipping but no large sections missing, except on rear. The rear has a half inch piece of spine cover missing and on the lower board, there is creasing. There may have been a repair made here, because it appears as though the surface paper was torn and folded over. It now appears worn but intact, with surface paper flat and attached. Pervious owner's name was stamped on inner front cover. The pages are toned but withour tears or stains other than scattered finger smudges. The illustrations are in bright colors and the text is printed in turquoise. Cute rhyming story in which Bet starts a singing career at the local beach, usurping Mr. de Golliwog from his place. He determines to get rid of her by drowning! But he repents and saves her. They decide to become a team in the end.

The larger format, color illustrated editions from McLoughlin are rare.
