BIOGRAPHY: Désiré-Félicien-François-Joseph Mercier (1851-1926), Belgian Roman Catholic Cardinal, Archbishop of Mechelen, Thomist scholar, author, editor, founded Higher Institute of Philosophy at Louvain University. Mercier founded and edited the Revue Néoscholastique, writing articles on metaphysics, philosophy, psychology, he was widely translated, and best known for the work Les origines de la psychologie contemporaine.
