BIOGRAPHY: Philip Kappel (1901-1981) Connecticut artist, author, illustrator, etcher, authority on Chinese porcelain, Japanese art, American and English antiques, works include Marine Prints, and various Gallery books. Charles William Taussig (1896-1948), American businessman, author, member of FDR’s brain trust, chairman of the U. S. Commission to study Social and Economic Conditions in the British East Indies, etc. Taussig’s works include Rum, Romance and Rebellion, The Book of Hobbies, The Book of Radio, Some Notes on Sugar and Molasses, A Four-Power Program in the Caribbean and American Etchers Philip Kappel.
