Offered is a nice planter with the form and glaze both being noted as 1930's early 1940's Cole pottery from Sanford Co. area of North Carolina.
The clay used in making the pot is the early yellow clay rather than being the later red.
The glaze is a nice early green having a purple crystaline color on the inside bottom as shown in one of the photographs.
The planter has a few chips on the outer edges that were intitally painted over but I cleaned off for better viewing as to the size. No cracks or repairs.
Roughly 9.25" across and stands 3.75" tall.
Unsigned.
I am sure the buyer will be pleased!
