Offering for sale is a fabulous early 1930's art deco metallic enamel Ronson "Tuxedo" combination cigarette case and lighter. The chrome plated case has a wonderful modernistic look with green and black geometric art deco design on front and with solid black back.
Metallic lacquer Ronsons are both rare and unusual. The "Tuxedo" was first designed by Louis V. Aronson of Newark,New Jersey in 1930 and continued in production until 1940. Louis V. Aronson is considered the most important lighter inventor of the 20th century. The Tuxedo came in numerous designs and colorways and are quite showy to display.
This auction is for one [1] Ronson Tuxedo combination lighter and case. The case measures 4" tall by 2 1/2" wide. The interior has Ronsons machined circular design.
Marked on the inside Ronson Tuxedo with patent information.
As seen in the photo, there is some wear to the enamel design mostly the front upper right corner. The lighter appears in good order just needs a flint and fuel. Sorry - no original box. There may be flash glare/reflection in the pictures - it is not damage.
