A wonderful catalog of celluloid dolls from the Rheinische Gummi und Celluloid Fabrik (Rubber and Celluloid Factory) Mannheim-Neckerau. Text is in three languages - German, Spanish, and English, This is the factory that produced many of the famous Schildkröt dolls, some of which may be included in this catalog.
Both dressed and undressed dolls are pictured, with either integral formed-celluloid or fabric clothing, Some dolls are jointed. Descriptions and doll names unfortunately reflect the customary usage of that period.
In addition, a 9-page price list includes many items from the company's general celluloid toy catalog, with items not shown in this doll catalog. The price list includes teething rings, floating animals, boats, and other water toys. Also included are toy birds, roly poly toys, motorized toys, musical instruments, windmills, items for the dining and card table, and Mickey Mouse figures,
We have digitally reproduced and restored our original pages at an extremely high resolution. The doll pages are printed on a heavy gloss paper reminiscent of the original, with the images in sepia (as are the originals). This is not a photocopy - our methods allow us to retain an unusual image clarity and depth of detail. Its true spiral binding, unlike a comb binding, allows this book to remain unharmed when left open at the desired place. Heavy clear vinyl covers protect the front and back, and the cover image is reproduced on an even heavier weight paper than the inside pages. Our fine facsimile reproductions are already in some museum research libraries.
