. 5th Fifth Edition.
Published by John Deere, Printed in USA by Desaulniers & Company, Moline, Illinois.Hard cover, 23 chapters, 199 pages. This book is one of 28 editions, produced from 1927-1957. The first twenty six editions do not have a copyright date in them. But, it is my understanding that this edition is from 1931.Features set up of horse drawn and early tractor drawn equipment, and two cylinder steel wheeled GP tractors, Hit and Miss engines, binders, hay loaders, rakes, cultivators, and most any harvesting and planting equipment of the period. Every page has diagrams, photographs, charts or illustrations, to go along with the very informative text. A valuable resource for anyone interested in homesteading, or for someone who is collecting and restoring vintage equipment. A very nice addition to your antique collection. Would make a nice Christmas or birthday present for someone who is interested in old machinery or horse pulling.
Condition
Very good condition. Pages just slightly beginning to tan. No loose, missing, or torn pages. The only writing is a name on the inside cover page. Book corners still square. A slight lean to the spine from improper storage, but binding is tight. A complete and solid copy of one of the more rare editions.
