1935 Chevrolet Sports Roadster - Danbury Mint - MIB

By 1935 only Chevrolet and Ford offered a Roadster.  Less than 5 years earlier, 35 manufacturers made 71 different roadster models.  This was to be Chevrolet's last roadster for 22 years, until the Corvette in 1953. 

This Danbury Mint's Roadster rates super high on the "cute" list.  Painted Dark Regent Maroon with brown seats, red wheels, gold pin-striping and the Rumble Seat, it is a terrific little car.  The body proportions are perfect and the interior is great with the center mounted gauges.  The door hinges are wonderful, (no annoying "dogleg"} and wait until you see the tilting windshield!  There is even the rare optional rear view mirror mounted clock and an under-dash temperature gauge.  You can even remove the lower seat cushion where you'll find the tool kit underneath.

Little surprises are everywhere ... the Chevy bowtie logo on the pedals and upper rumble seat step pad.  The 75hp six cylinder engine is accurate with wires, plumbing and many separate pieces. Top Up and Boot are included as well.  Interestingly, whitewall tires were not an option, but this car has many options in it including a metal spare tire cover ($5.50), hood ornament ($3.75), bumper guards ($3.45), right tail lamp ($3.00) and locking gas cap ($1.50). This model grows on you each time you look at it.  

This car is in MINT CONDITION and probably was never displayed.   It comes packed in the Styrofoam Liner and Outer Box.  Paperwork includes the Certificate of Title and Care and Use Instructions.  Don't miss this terrific car.  You won't be disappointed.
