Thomas The Biography of a Dog - Last Days - by Eugenia Smith Plus there are four illustrations by Elizabeth Lovvett, Barbara Crawford, Robert R. Murray Jr, and Helen N. Tuttle Designed, Printed and Published by George W. Magee, Jr: George Magee Jr, was born and raised in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia, and was a longtime resident of Penn Valley, PA. Magee graduated from the Haverford School, and from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1934, where he was president of his senior class. One year after graduating, he opened his own business, this Magee Press. This was 1935, the same year he printed and published this book. Later, he worked as a purchasing agent for publishing houses Edward Stern & Co. and Cuneo Press. He also was interested in model railroading, and in 1962 opened a specialty shop for imported HO-gauge model trains. He also collected antique coins and was actively involved with the Philadelphia Coin Club. He was married to Betty Wynne Maggee. Members of a group called the Quicksilver Association assisted with the publication of this book. Their names are listed in the book. They include: Pamela Burr of Bryn Mawr, Evan Bruce Byall of Penn Valley, Robert Chambers Jr. of Haddonfield, Clara Louise Chapman of Overbrook, Charles Eugene Claghorn of Narberth, Virginia Dorsey of Germantown, Thomas H. Edwards Jr. of Merion, Sylvia Scott Korff of Chestnut Hill, John M. Poole IV of Villa Nova, Helen N. Tuttle of Bryn Mawr, etc. Condition: Very Nice Condition: No library or institution markings. No previous owner's markings. Interior is in mint conditon, with no foxing or stains. The dust jacket has some chips and tears, and is now protected by a removable, clear acetate protective cover.
