This is the find of my garage sale activities. This was in a box of old books a woman was selling for a dollar. Loving books as I do, I was pleased to find that they were old and to my liking. I'm passing on the ones I think need a better home with more loving people. This particular book is one of the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories by Carolyn Keene; The Mystery of the Ivory Charm. These books are a thrilling series written just for girls, showing a style of empowerment and intelligence at a time when women & girls were suppose to be demure and dull. I'm not sure when they first came on the scene, but this one has a copyright date of 1936 published by Grosset & Dunlop. The book itself is in good condition with tight pages and, except for the girls name on the first page, no other writing in it anywhere. The pages are dark with age, but not ripped or torn. The dust cover is rough around the edges with some wear and tear, but other than what is shown in the picture it is intact and the graphics are a great example of the 1930's. The books were well loved and after almost 80 years, are in wonderful shape! I have another one listed also and I always charge only exact postage so combining items is no problem, but do contact me for the total. And remember, every 3rd item is sent for free.
