This is a fabulous cup made to commemorate the Coronation of Edward VIII as King of England on May 12, 1937. Of course, the event was aborted when he announced his marriage to a divorced woman. The cup has a gilded lion handle and absolutely beautiful decoration. This form has been made for many of the royal events and is highly sought after. It is 3 & 1/4" tall and 4 & 1/2" from the back of the handle to the rim. It is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or damage The pictures tell the story. Around the top rim it says "Edward VIII King and Emperor" in gold on a cobalt background. Please check my other listings for additional memorabiia, antiques and ephemera..
