Rarely seen and seldom offered at auction, in excellent condition this is "Bo Peep Has Lost Her Sheep" #153 Nancy Ann Story Book Dolls from the Storybook Series-Fairyland 1937. A darling little matte-finish "JAPAN" mold, jointed at shoulders and hips, with molded bangs and molded socks & shoes painted as black slip-on shoes (a few tiny flecks off shoes). Her face paint is perfect with blue eyes, painted long upper lashes and bright rosy cheeks. The mohair wig is golden blonde, full and wavy, tied with a pink ribbon under her basket bonnet trimmed in ribbon flowers. Bo Peep wears a pink floral dimity dress with pale blue organdy panniers and lace & ribbon straps. On the skirt is her tiny gold sticker: "(dot) Nancy Ann Dressed Dolls". Underneath are batiste pantalets hemmed in lace that matches the lace on the bodice of the dress. She retains her chenille shepherd's crook tied on with pale blue ribbon, and her dull silver pin (slight age-darkening and wear on panniers).
